Passover: Ten Plagues - Ten Gods Gallery Walk: Informational Text Comprehension
Passover Informational Text Reading Comprehension
10 Plagues - 10 Gods Gallery Walk Mystery Challenge
Students will walk around the room analyzing the Station Cards to align the 10 Egyptian gods with the 10 Plagues. Background knowledge about the 10 Plagues is needed to complete this activity successfully.
Gallery Walk has TWO components:
Part 1: The students will read 10 passages on the Gallery Cards. Each card contains information about an Egyptian god(dess).
- As the students walk around the room they will read the Station Cards.
- They will use the information about the Egyptian god on the Station Card to determine to which plague they correspond.
- Students will need to justify their answers using text-based evidence and critical thinking.
- They will then write down their justifications in the space provided on the Answer Sheet.
- On the back side of the Answer Sheet, they will fill in the Plagues corresponding with the Egyptian god or goddess on that numbered Station Card.
Part 2: After the students have identified and justified the corresponding Plagues and gods, they will discover a Code Word.
- The other side of the Answer Sheet has a grid for the students to fill out as they navigate the Gallery Walk.
- The shaded boxes will reveal a code word when they write the correct plague in the spaces provided.
- They will then write the Mystery Word at the bottom of the Answer Sheet in the space provided.
