Activity 1 · Online

Create Your Own Dreidel Game

Students build their own virtual version of the classic dreidel game, complete with spinning, landing on a letter, and winning or losing coins. Using nothing but prompts, they describe how the game should work, and AI turns their ideas into working code, step by step.

Along the way, they learn how AI understands instructions and how small changes in a prompt can reshape the result. No robots or special equipment needed, just a computer and a creative idea.

Activity 2

Dreidel Image Recognition

Students take the dreidel game they created online and bring it into the physical world, building a real dreidel and game pieces from recycled materials. Then they train their own image-recognition model, using a USB camera connected to mAIk's software, to tell which side the dreidel landed on.

Through hands-on trial and error, they discover how AI learns to “see” from examples. It's a fun, creative follow-up to the online activity and a deeper look at what AI can do.

Activity 3

Smart Dreidel with Robots

Students pick up where Activity 2 left off, bringing their dreidel game to life with real driving robots. Every time the AI model recognizes where the dreidel landed, the robots spring into action, picking up coins and passing them between players just like in the classic game.

Students experience the full path of an AI system: from an idea, to a trained model, to robots moving in the real world. It's a hands-on blend of AI, coding, and robotics that turns a holiday tradition into a team challenge.
